1. Information Marky stores
Marky stores information you provide and information created while you use its dog-care features. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
Dog profile data
Names, photos, profile details, routines, and other information you add about your dog.
Walk and location data
Walk start and end times, duration, route points, distance estimates, map markers, and related notes. Location is used for walk tracking and map markers. GPS information can be incomplete or inaccurate.
Care logs
Entries such as pee, poop, food, behavior, wildlife sightings, care activities, reminders, and free-form notes.
Health records and attachments
If you choose to add them, Marky may store health-related notes, records, photos, or file attachments on your device. Marky organizes this information but does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide veterinary advice.
Local Safety notes
Local Safety notes help you remember loose dogs, hazards, traffic, wildlife, weather, or other safety moments. They are private/local notes for you—not public community alerts, not shared with nearby users, and not a guarantee of safety.
2. Data stored locally
Marky is designed to be local-first. Your dog-care data is stored on your device by default. Local data normally remains there unless you use a feature that needs an outside service, export or share information, restore a device backup that includes app data, or a future service is introduced with updated notice and choices.
Removing the app, resetting the device, clearing app storage, or losing the device may remove local data. Export important information you want to keep.
3. When data may leave the device
Information may leave your device in limited situations, including when you intentionally export or share a report or file; use a voice, mapping, operating-system, or permission service that processes the requested feature; contact support and include information; or use a future online feature after receiving appropriate notice.
Third-party services and the device operating system may process information under their own privacy terms. Marky does not sell user data. Marky does not currently promise a cloud account or cloud backup system.
4. Permissions used
- Location: supports active walk tracking, route estimates, and map markers. Background location may be requested for a walk that continues while the phone is locked.
- Microphone: supports voice features you intentionally start. Marky does not record background conversations.
- Notifications: supports reminders and care notices you enable.
- Photos, camera, or files: lets you select or create profile photos and attachments when you choose to use those features.
You can review or change permissions in your device settings. Turning off a permission may limit the related feature.
5. Voice command data
Marky uses Google Assistant and “Hey Google” where supported. Marky does not use “Hey Marky” and does not always listen. Voice follow-up listening begins only after you initiate a command flow and is limited to short follow-up answers needed for that flow.
Voice input may be processed by Google, your device, or an operating-system speech service under that provider’s terms. Voice recognition may misunderstand commands, so review important logs. Marky does not support risky V1 voice actions such as deleting dogs or deleting walks.
6. User choices, export, and deletion
You decide which optional information to add, which permissions to allow, and when to export or share data. In Marky, open Settings → Data & privacy → App Data to export local data or delete dog profiles, walk history, health records, or all local data. Delete actions ask for confirmation.
For additional help, read the Data Deletion page or contact support@markyapp.com. If your information exists only on your device, Andrew Turley, operating as DaringDrew may not possess or be able to delete that local copy remotely.
7. Children’s privacy
Marky is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account service. If you believe a child has provided information to Andrew Turley, operating as DaringDrew, contact support@markyapp.com.
8. Security and retention
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the features we provide, but no device, storage method, or transmission is completely secure. Locally stored information remains until you delete it, remove it through device controls, or the device or app storage is reset. Information you export or share is controlled by the destination you choose.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Marky changes. A revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes should be reviewed before public release or before a new data practice begins.
